Students may require specific accommodations based on individual needs or functional limitations to succeed in their studies. Hogeschooltaal offers a variety of options for students with disabilities, such as dyslexia or chronic illnesses:
-
Extended Exam Time
Students may receive additional time for tests. When scheduling a test, you can request extra time in step 3. A standard extension of 20 minutes is applied to all Hogeschooltaal tests. For more details on requesting an exam, please refer to the article 'How do I schedule a test myself?' -
Enlarged Screen
Each test can be displayed with enlarged text. This can be adjusted manually in the browser settings. -
Text-to-Speech Program
For students with disabilities, tests can be read aloud using our own text-to-speech program. For more information, please refer to 'Is Hogeschooltaal suitable for visually impaired students?' -
Verb Spelling Algorithm Card
Students with documented learning disabilities or dyslexia are allowed to use the "Algortimekaart" during official exams. These students are still eligible for a Hogeschooltaal certificate. -
Adjusted norm
You can apply a modified norm. Our default norm is 80%, but a lower norm can be used for students with disabilities. A separate test must be scheduled for these students. In step 4 of test scheduling, select 'adjust norm' and enter the desired value. This applies to both verb werkwoordspelling and the overall result. Please note: Only students meeting the 80% norm will be eligible for a certificate. -
Extra Test Session
An additional formative test session can be arranged for students needing extra support. This session, supervised by a teacher or coach, allows the student to familiarize themselves with the test process and content. Afterward, the test can be reviewed with the student. -
Tests via ProctorExam
During a test with ProctorExam, students are generally not allowed to leave the room, eat, or use pen and paper. However, if a student requires such accommodations for medical reasons, please inform us. We will take this into account when reviewing and sharing the test footage.
If you feel that a specific accommodation is missing or have any questions about available options, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are happy to assist you.
