You can schedule the test yourself in the student monitoring system. Supervision is mandatory. We recommend the following test durations:
• Dutch 3F Multiple-Choice Test: 60 minutes
• Dutch 4F Multiple-Choice Test: 90 minutes
• Dutch 3F Multiple-Choice and Editing Test: 90 minutes
• Dutch 4F Multiple-Choice and Editing Test: 105 minutes
• English B1 Multiple-Choice Test: 60 minutes
• English B2 Multiple-Choice Test: 60 minutes
• English C1 Multiple-Choice and Editing Test: 60 minutes
Do you have a student eligible for extra time? We advise an extension of 20 minutes for all types of tests. At step 3 when scheduling the test, you can click the 'add additional time' button and enter the desired duration.
Need assistance during the test? We are available on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at 088-5226822. If there is a morning test starting before 9:00 AM, we are available 15 minutes before the test time. For part-time programs, we are available for evening tests until 9:00 PM, unless otherwise agreed. For evening tests, we are available 15 minutes before the test time. We can provide support during the test if it is scheduled at least five working days in advance.
Test Procedure:
Advise students to be present 10 minutes before the test to prevent any login issues. To take the test, students need an internet connection and a desktop or laptop with an up-to-date web browser. Tests cannot be taken on a mini laptop, phone, or tablet.
Students can log in following these instructions.
Once logged in, the student will see a blue button 'Go to test environment' in the top left corner. The student enters the test code provided by the teacher or inviligator. Then, a countdown timer will appear. When it is time to start the test, the student will see the 'start test' button. After answering the questions, students can review and amend their answers if desired.
The inviligator or teacher provides the test code and, if applicable, the password only once all students are logged in. Therefore, the test code and password are only known to students present in the room. To prevent fraud, a student cannot leave the test window during the test. The student must not move the mouse outside the test window and must keep the screen in full-screen mode. Deviating from this will trigger a warning message. Pressing the button will return the student to the test. Registered notifications can be viewed during and after the test in the student monitoring system.
Standardisation official tests
For Dutch Hogeschooltaal, students pass if they achieve a minimum score of 80% for Werkwoordspelling and an overall score of 80% or higher. For English Hogeschooltaal, students pass if they achieve an overall score of 80% or higher. Want to use a different standardisation? During step 4 when scheduling the test, you can check the 'adjust standardiation' option and enter the desired one. Note: if you use a standardisation other than the established Hogeschooltaal norm, only students who meet the 80% Hogeschooltaal standardisation will be eligible for a certificate.
Do you want to calculate the result cumulatively or non-cumulatively? With a cumulative scoring, previously achieved percentages remain. The highest percentage per topic is counted as the result. You can choose different calculations when requesting the test. For English Hogeschooltaal, we always use non-cumulative scoring.
Test results and review
Results appear immediately after the test in the student monitoring system. You can find the results under 'Test results', where you can download the test report as a teacher.
If a student disagrees with the assessment of their answers, they can email comments or remarks to support@digitaalbedrijf.nl within three working days of the test. We will review the comments or remarks within three working days.
After these three working days, the results become final unless otherwise communicated. You can share these results with your students. Students can access the test and correct answers in their account up to 24 hours after the test.
Retakes
The program coordinator or teacher determines the number of retake opportunities.
